13 – 4 August 2018
Organisations in private and public sectors must improve strategic decision making to succeed in today’s challenging environment, overcome emerging complex and ill-defined problems, and increase posture for success in an increasingly uncertain future.
The workshop, held on Aug 13 and 14 at Sunway Putra Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, highlighted how strategic foresight would enable organisations to develop an adaptive strategy for success.
The key benefits included:
• Gain understanding of strategic foresight and its uses
in decision making;
• Sharpen critical thinking skills with a foresight
mindset;
• Apply scenario planning to address trends, changes,
future uncertainties and risks;
• Become more proactive with insights to challenge
“business-as-usual” thinking and stimulate out of the
box’ thinking; and
• Complete an actionable, integrated planning process
that translates the insights gained into a strategy for
the organisation
The highly interactive programme is designed to expose participants to a comprehensive overview of strategic foresight, scenario thinking and planning; the process of building scenarios and understanding their value and applications to business decisions, strategy development and organisational learning.
Participants learnt how to craft scenarios and integrate scenarios into planning through a hands-on experience in working on a real “mini scenario” exercise, which was an integral element of the course.
